(Midtown) – A new year marks a new season of “So You You Think You Can Dance,” and Fox has already begun scouting this year’s crop of hopefuls.
The audition schedule only has five cities on it and it all kicked off today in Atlanta. Hundreds of people lined up to take a shot, and finalists will compete in L.A for cash and the title of America’s best dancer.
Created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe, “So You Think You Can Dance” features dancers skilled in a variety of dance styles – from ballroom to hip-hop and everything in between. Each season offers an incredibly impressive array of talent and emphasizes many dancers’ ability to learn different styles and master some truly creative choreography. Executive Producer Jeff Thacker was on hand here, as the next crop is hand-picked. Past Atlanta winners include Melanie Moore. (Last year’s winners were Dushaunt Fik-Shun Stegall and Amy Yakima).

Philadelphia, PA – Monday, Jan. 20 – Merriam Theatre – 250 South Broad Street
New Orleans, LA – Friday, Jan. 31 – Ernest N. Morial Convention Center- 900 Convention Center Blvd.
Chicago, IL – Thursday, Feb. 27 – Oriental Theatre – 24 West Randolph Street
Los Angeles, CA – Sunday, March 23 – Orpheum Theatre – 842 Broadway
